The Congress on Saturday (August 24, 2024) said it is deeply concerned that minorities are being repeatedly targeted in the BJP-governed States and bulldozer justice should not be allowed to go on any further.
The house of a male who allegedly took part in violence in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh during a protest was razed by the Opposition party.
The house of Shahzad Ali under Kotwali police station limits was demolished. We had registered a case against 150 people for the violence on Wednesday. We had named 46 people,” an official had said.
Demolishing someone’s house and rendering them homeless is not only cruel but also unjust according to Mallikarjun Kharge the president of Congress party.
“Deeply troubling have been the repeated targeting of minorities in BJP-ruled States. Such actions do not belong to societies governed by Rule of Law,” he wrote in a post on X.
On the other hand, Mr. Kharge criticized BJP State governments for unconstitutionally using force against citizens through bulldozing tactics
Justice cannot be subverted by chaos – crimes must be determined through courts, not state sponsored suppression, added Mr. Kharge
“If somebody has been accused with a crime then it is only court which can decide about his crime as well as punishment”, she posted in Hindi language at X
“But if you accuse someone of being guilty, and immediately start punishing his family members by snatching away their roofs, bypassing due process, defying court orders and razing down their homes immediately upon allegations; this certainly does not represent justice” she put across her point.
“This is pure injustice and sheer barbarism; there’s got to be some difference between those who create laws, those who are supposed to enforce them and those who break them”, followed with ‘governments cannot act worse than criminals’.
In a civilized society where law, constitution, democracy and humanity matter the minimum of governance should comply with such requirements according to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
“One who cannot fulfill ‘rajdharma’ can neither work for the welfare of the society nor the country. Bulldozer justice is completely unacceptable, it must stop,” she said.
Prophet Mohammad’s alleged remarks provoke mob attack on police station in Madhya Pradesh; four personnel injured
It was on Thursday (August 22, 2024) that the house of a man who allegedly participated in violence against seer Ramgiri Maharaj during a protest was razed.
A few days back at Shah Panchale village in Nashik district’s Sinnar taluka, Ramgiri Maharaj had reportedly made some offensive comments about Islam while addressing religious gathering.
The Muslim community staged a demonstration on Wednesday which spiralled into violent confrontations resulting in injuries of two policemen and destruction of many vehicles.
