Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) convenor for the social media cell, Manne Krishan speaking on withdrawal of permission to a brewer, at a press conference held in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has welcomed Telangana Government’s decision to cancel the license granted Som Distilleries to sell its liquor in the State, and sought an investigation into how the issuance of liquor licenses was handled.
However, BRS leader Manne Krishank took exception to this oscillating stand by Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and said that he could not understand why the elder brother had first claimed ignorance about the permit given to Som Distilleries when quizzed first but justified it upon deeper contemplation and now too a U-turn. The BRS leader called for an inquiry into how such allegations-riddled brewery entered into the state at first place.
Mr. Krisnak asked why did these two central agencies–the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate–which hurriedly investigated Delhi’s liquor policy look other way over Som Distilleries’ entry into Telangana before withdrawing permission without registering cases. He was addressing journalists during press briefing.
“Those who allowed this brewer should be known because they were related with people’s health”, Mr. Krishank recalled deaths which happened as result of consumption of alcohol made by Som Distilleries in Madhya Pradesh.
He mentioned that it is also government which leaked information concerning entry of Som Distillery as well framed cases for posting same on social media by opposition parties. He further alleged that there have been numerous scams taking place in almost all departments since Congress leaders have been out of power for 10 years now trying to compensate their loss.
Did the cancellation process temporary or permanent?
The BRS leader sought clarifications on whether cancellation of permission given to brewer selling its brands of alcohol in Telangana by the Minister Mr. Krishna Rao for which he was caught red-handed was temporal or permanent. The Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy and Mr. Krishna Rao were contradicting each other with the CM’s prior statement indicating that State has an increase in excise revenue while the latter disputed that there had been any increment at all.
