K.T. Rama Rao, working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) said on Saturday (August 17, 2024) that the party would go about collecting data from all constituencies starting from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s constituency Kodangal for checking whether all farmers have been helped by the Crop Loan Waiver Scheme 2024.
1.2 lakh complaints received
Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad, KTR pledged to put pressure on the government until every farmer benefited from the waiver. “If justice is not done we will start direct action,” he said adding that BRS call center at Telangana Bhavan has got around 1.2 lakh complaints related to loan waiver.
According to KTR, a proforma will be developed for the purpose with local MLAs, former MLAs or senior leaders overseeing it. “For this data collection process itself, BRS party members will visit every house hold in villages,” he added.
Raising his voice against the entire loan waiver exercise as one farce; BRS will compile detailed information regarding these waivers at village level and submit them district collectors before forwarding to State Government; if they do not address issues pertaining to farmers within two days a state-wide agitation will commence.
He was worried because 40% of farmers haven’t got their loans waived yet and are currently struggling hard. He also accused Congress party of diversionary tactics so as not to admit that it failed in implementing loan waiver.
KTR Questions Government claims on Foxconn investment
Mr. Rama Rao further questioned the integrity of the current State government alleging that an understanding was reached with Foxconn under Former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s leadership towards creating one lakh jobs. However, KTR raised doubts about whether Mr.Reddy’s words led to company backing out or there had been administrative lapses.
He highlighted that Foxconn has announced plans to set up its second-largest campus in Bengaluru. Therefore, he requested the government to disclose the real information about investments by Foxconn and its expansion plans in the state; also, he asked if that meant that they would still continue with the expansion. The chief Minister was also challenged by him to explain whether Foxconn’s move to Bangalore was caused by his administration’s failures.
To appear before Women’s panel
KTR said that he will appear before the Women’s Commission on the 24th and expose the misdeeds that occurred under Congress’s rule over the past eight months. Moreover, he wanted action from authorities against those people who attacked House of MLA T Harish Rao in Siddipet district.
