The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has criticised the way in which the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government handled the NEET-UG exam fiasco and why hasn’t ED yet registered a case though it did so volitionally on several other issues
Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad on Tuesday, B. Vinod Kumar, a senior BRS leader and former MP said that the NEET issue would automatically qualify for ED investigation due to reports that the exam paper had been leaked in Bihar and Gujarat and sold for 30 lakh rupees per copy or more while crores of rupees were exchanged. Also, many Telangana state students suffered from question leakage.
He noted that since 2015 students from this country had already written NEET exams. In addition to this, they weren’t going there and forgoing admission into the course while still 15% of qualified students were getting seats in other states. Therefore, he urged Chief Minister & Health Ministers to constitute an expert committee that could look into whether staying in NEET was useful for Sate student given the presence of 25 medical colleges with more coming up.
Mr Vinod Kumar appealed on behalf of Tamil Nadu as he stated that using their model would be most beneficial for Andhra Pradesh State. The same is true about Telangana Government also taking such actions.
At Raj Bhavan here today, student bodies led by BRS Student wing led by its President G.Srinivas Yadav staged protests demanding cancellation of NEET exam and re-conducting it to do justice to those who lost because of illegal benefitting by others out of question paper leakage. Activists were arrested by police.
Srinivas Yadav wanted to know why Union Minsters G Kishan Reddy & Bandi Sanjay who made noise when Group-I question paper was leaked in the past are keeping mum now. Besides this, he asked the State Government too to have its say on the NEET mess-up.
