BREAKING: Munjya has a cameo by Varun Dhawan aka Bhediya
Worldwide, a horror comedy titled Munjya has premiered. The film attracted attention for its concept, the song ‘Taras’, and also because it’s a horror comedy, a genre that is popular among many. Besides that, It is also part of Maddock Supernatural Universe which includes Stree (2018) and Bhediya (2022). Prior to its release, people were wondering if the makers of Munjya would bring out the connection between Bhediya and Stree or just keep silent about it.
Bollywood Hungama received exclusive information that the filmmakers of Munjya have something big up their sleeves. Varun Dhawan who features as the protagonist in Bhediya makes an appearance in Munjya as a cameo role. This scene can be consider vital to how far this supernatural universe will go in future years. It probably also gives a hint on what one can expect in the next instalment of Bhediya and it surely enhances excitement for it.
Munjya stars Sharvari and Abhay Verma; directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. Produced under Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, it reveals a story of an evil spirit tethered to an aged tree in one sleepy coastal town in Konkan region of Maharashtra. Hell breaks loose once this spirit attaches himself with an awkward Pune boy for his ulterior motive thereby leading to chaos.
The first movie was Stree (2018), featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao; directed by Amar Kaushik; one of 2018’s biggest hits. Next came Roohi (2021), starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. Following this was Bhediya which included Kriti Sanon as well as Varun Dhawan.
Next in line is Stree 2. It will be out on August 30 this year and it has already received huge anticipatory hype. Bhediya 2 on the other hand was unveiled by Jio Studios last year and it is expected to release in 2025.
