Prime Video today announced the exclusive worldwide launch of its highly awaited Original movie The Mehta Boys, on the opening day of the 15th Chicago South Asian Film Festival CSAFF, which is scheduled to take place from September 19 – 22, 2024. The Original movie will be displayed on the Opening Night of the festival which is 20th September. The Mehta Boys, an Irani Movietone LLP and Chalkboard Entertainment LLP film produced by Boman Irani, Danesh Irani, Vikesh Bhutani and Shujaat Saudagar, is also directed by Boman Irani who co-wrote with Oscar-winning Alexander Dinelaris Jr., for Best Original Screenplay for the film Birdman.
Upon hearing this news, Boman Irani readily took to her social media account on this account and remarked ” I was married with children, early on, the only thing I did. Everything else took its sweet time. I took the role of a director in my first film “The Mehta Boys” which with a sweet, rather too sweet period of time, auspicious to my untimely soliloquy upon this race for life as a race is quite a load of bull – that someone old and annoying also uttered. Not quite sweet is what I inferred about what this would be when it finally happens and not just because it has a sweetness to it. That this film has taken years of my life, makes my heart ache inside with happiness and my body burst forth in excitement. ” In who ever’s opinion was the gun toting struggling. ”

My family, my actors, my backers, my friends – all of them are coming over to The Hold by Hand – joyous for the best moment since the time I got married, my children were born, I took my first steps on stage, acted in my first film, won my first award, signed my first autograph, my first… And that’s quite truthfully a joke. The best actors of Boman Irani, Avinash Tiwary, Shreya Chaudhry, and Puja Sarup are in the film. The Mehta Boys is about a father and son not on talking terms who for some reasons are forced to stay together for 48 hours. The film chronicles this inability of the two men to forge sobering up on the story and examines the adage which seems downright conventional in every father-son relationship.
When the screening ends on 20th September, Boman Irani will also participate in an interesting discussion with writer Alexander Dinelaris Junior, actors Avinash Tiwary and Shreya Chaudhry, producer Danesh Irani and executive producer Ankita Batra. The next day, on September 21st, Boman Irani along with Alexander Dinelaris Juni will hold a master class on the composition of The Mehta Boys.
