One of the recent interviews with Vishal Punjabi, a wedding photographer and videographer referred to as Wedding Filmer, have gone viral on various platforms. In the interview which occurred between him and influencer and YouTuber DJ Simz, he talked about how he became one of the most popular wedding videographers who has filmed several high-profile Bollywood weddings and made a shocking revelation about one particular wedding he shot for and how the husband who is supposed to be a ‘big Bollywood star’, cheated on his wife.
During the interview, when the host enquired whether Vishal Punjabi had ever witnessed any weddings that ended up in divorce soon after they took place he remembered a particular wedding where a husband cheated on his wife a month after their wedding. “That happened with a celeb, two months into their marriage and he was cheating. He was caught red-handed with this Bollywood actress inside his makeup van while they were shooting for a film on location.” His wife enters and sees him naked saying she does not want her wedding video anymore”.
Furthermore, he revealed that he was not been paid for it either and it left him in a bit of fix about what to do with the video footage. “I’m ringing up the groom, no response. Now I call up his wife- ‘I don’t want your wedding film!” Then I called his manager -who is also my friend- telling him, “Bro let’s forget about the film”. What can I do? Should I sell it to Netflix?” He continued by saying,” Earlier my contract stated 50% before shooting and 50% after giving you the film but after that incident I said like,’This is heart fam life marriage and am going to charge you 100% upfront.’”
Although without giving any name away, he stared at the camera and said,”You know who you are” besides talking about how fake emotions were portrayed by groom during filming for his wife-to-be. “In the film, the groom is crying, saying, ‘I love you, baby’. You know they’re fake crocodile tears. He’s a big Bollywood actor. Can’t take names, but damn… The value I have of that footage is worth millions. It’s a comedy film. I could sell it and make s**tloads of money,” he added.
Vishal Punjabi shot to fame after shooting the wedding video for Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli in Italy but before that he had also done Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover’s serene wedding in Mumbai. Afterward, he shot Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s wedding ceremonies which were streamed during the last season of Koffee With Karan alongside moments from other celebs like Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, Sidharth Malhotra as well as Kiara Advani among others.
