If Lord Almighty himself tells him to do, President Joe Biden has already said he would drop out of the race. “The Lord helps those who help themselves,” whispers a secret yet detailed memo being circulated within the Democrats in direct allusion to that. Rather than let him contest in such a scenario, the Ph.D.s have issued a memo titled “Lord Helps Those Who Help Themselves” which aims at replacing Biden through what they term as ‘‘Blitz Primary’’ before their convention in August.
According to Semafor, two heavyweight Democratic operatives are circulating the memo.
“While we hope for help from Lord Almighty, the Lord helps those who help themselves,” reads a part of the memo written by Rosa Brooks, Georgetown University law professor and entrepreneur Ted Dintersmith.
“We can limp to shameful, avoidable democracy-ending defeat. Or Democrats can make this Our Finest Hour,” it says.
Here’s draft days
Biden will give up being nominated by mid-July and announce his support for Kamala Harris as vice president.
This will be when potential candidates throw their hats into the ring. This is followed by a primary season during which each of six candidates promises to run campaigns for one month before the convention.
Semafor reports that the “blitz primary” will feature weekly forums with each candidate moderated by cultural icons (Michelle Obama, Oprah and Taylor Swift are some names floated in this memo) as means of engaging voters.
Before Chicago convention begins on August 19th, however, nominees would have been chosen at least three days earlier while Biden is among other dignitaries like Barack Obama and Bill Clinton gracing the stage on day three.
As envisioned in this draft, Biden would be feted as a “modern-day George Washington”. Draft vs real
On Monday Biden was quoted assaying that he intends staying in until his presidential bid comes to an end because he knows he is capable of defeating Donald Trump. He also wrote a letter to the Democrats, appeared on Parami News Morning Joe and made it clear that he doesn’t care what the big donors say as he is not running for them.
