On Thursday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wrote letters to the Election Commission and Mumbai Police demanding that Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader be dealt with over alleged remarks of treating Prime Minister Narendra Modi like a son of Emperor Aurangzeb’s mughal was buried in Maharashtra.
The BJP’s Maharashtra unit said such remarks were “a direct threat” to the life of the PM.
In Ahmednagar, at a public rally, Rath threatened to bury Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Maharashtra. He also likened Modi to Aurangzeb. Such remarks may lead to bad communal relations and disturb peaceful campaign process,” BJP noted in its complaint letter written to EC.
“His words directly endangered the life of PM Narendra Modi. Consequently, according to the lawsuit filed by BJP, EC officials should take appropriate action against Raute and ensure that similar comments are not made again.”
