Admitting that he did not have enough time to attend the Lok Sabha and upcoming rallies election, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, however, told TOI that he believed people would reciprocate the positive contributions of the central and state governments over the past nine-and-a-half years by giving the party a huge mandate
You were appointed chief minister just four days before the 2024 general election was announced. assembly The election will be held in October.
Personally, I have very little time. But in the BJP, we have all been trained to turn challenges into opportunities. We have tried our best to repeat government At the Center and the state, the same will be done this time. I am very confident that the people of Haryana will give us a huge mandate in return for the positive contributions of our state government and the Centre. Direct bank transfers, good governance model, transparency in recruitment and our efforts to eradicate corruption are some of the key achievements that are known.
What do you think of the events that led to the state’s sudden turn of events? Will these adversely affect the prospects of the BJP in the state?
Our party is a cadre-based party with strong organization and central support. Every party member, regardless of rank, has the ability to move things forward while adhering to the party line. As far as change is concerned, this is the prerogative of the party high command. Make a decision after assessing the situation.
What is your reaction to the following accusations? Does former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar still have a say in state administration and governance?
This may be your opinion, or it may be the opinion of those who do not adhere to the principles of the organization. Sahab (Manohar Lal Khattar) has dedicated his life to the country for nine and a half years. He plans, designs and supervises every development project in the state and has been overseeing and executing Central Government projects. He has been active in the state since before the 2014 elections. It’s not him who looks to him for guidance, it’s us.Our leaders will not jeopardize their own party’s cause like other political parties do leader and colleagues to promote or establish their sons or family members in the state. Sahab resigned within minutes and soon after resigned as Karnal MLA.
It is possible for a party worker to reach the top office only in the BJP. And, this is not just in Haryana, our party has set such an example in other states as well. In Congress, on the other hand, certain leaders have to pay the price for the growth of family members or individual leaders.
Even after the changing of the guard, there are still dissenting voices within the BJP. Some senior leaders like Anil Vij or Ram Bilas Sharma seem to be ignored. The campaign is also missing some big names.
This is the only party where everyone is allowed to express themselves. Vij Sahab worked very enthusiastically for the party and its candidates. We accept His blessings and guidance. He organized a well-attended rally in Ambala Cantt, while OP Dhankar organized one in Badli. Every party member is determined and their only mission is to achieve the set goals.
Which party is the main political rival of the BJP in Haryana? Is anti-incumbency an issue as some BJP candidates have been replaced?
One thing is for sure, we will win resoundingly in Haryana, winning all 10 assembly constituencies and by a good margin too. This will show if there is anti-incumbency Or the pro-incumbent wave. People voted for Prime Minister Modi’s contribution to governance and vision. As far as opposition parties are concerned, we do not consider any particular party to be a competitor. It may only be in a few pockets. Otherwise, when you talk about Congress, everyone knows the drama and controversy surrounding their choice of candidates. The party and its leadership cannot decide on its nominees or bring them together. What kind of performance do you expect from them?
After ending your alliance with JJP, you talked about launching an investigation into their party leaders. The opposition has been alleging misuse of official mechanisms like ACB, ED and CBI against its leaders. Do you have any opinion?
We have just responded to public and media inquiries about JJP. It was not the government but their own MLAs who made certain statements in the House. Our reactions and positions are simply a response to this. As far as the operations of the investigative agencies are concerned, they are acting in accordance with the law. Only wrongdoers face prosecution. The opposition makes such accusations because they have nothing to prove.
