Court records indicate that the woman has been charged with capital murder following the weekend’s nationwide attention to the May incident.
Elizabeth Wolf, 42, reportedly approached a mother who was wearing hijab at an apartment complex swimming pool in the suburbs around Dallas.
According to US media outlets, she asked the lady if her six-year-old son and three-year-old daughter were hers and made racial comments as well.
In this case, the woman is said to have caught hold of the boy only for him to slip away before grabbing hold of his sister and holding her head under water.
“No child should ever be subjected to a violent attack, and my heart goes out to the family,” stated Biden on X on Monday.
“I am deeply disturbed by the reports of an attempted drowning of a 3 year old Palestinian-American at a neighborhood pool,” he added.
On Saturday, CAIR’s Texas chapter held a press conference on the matter calling for hate crimes investigations.
