As the Democratic National Convention came to an end, those present in United centre were left heartbroken when rumours of pop star Beyonce or Taylor Swift performing at the event did not come to pass.
The hype for DNC was on the rise as days went by as rumors began to circulate about a few big name musical guests showing up at the event and possibly being Beyonce and Taylor Swift.
However, fans had high hopes that these ‘special’ names would be revealed on stage despite a confirmation of appearances by some famous artists such as John Legend, Pink, Stevie Wonder and The Chicks.
A report from a tabloid called TMZ confirmed that Beyonce would be in attendance as it claimed that she will perform on day four when Kamala Harris is making her speech in front of the delegates present at the United Center.
According to TMZ’s story, Chicago police are “on high alert” and have been “assisting with security” because she might show up there.
Other delegates were seen earlier donning rhinestone or mirrored cowboy hats which are part of her Renaissance tour costume collection as well.
However, media blew up after Kamala Harris gave her acceptance speech and it was revealed through various reporting sources citing Beyonce’s planner that she wasn’t ever supposed to be there. This just devastated fans.
Beyoncé was not present at the DNC but she showed support for Harris’ campaign by allowing them to use her song “Freedom.” Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s campaign was forced to pull down a video featuring the same track after threats of legal action by team Beyoncé.
Meanwhile, netizens speculated about Taylor Swift besides rumors surrounding Beyonce.
In fact during short commercial ad breaks during which DJ played Swift’s Shake It Off inside United Centre ahead fanning rumours this afternoon may see pop queen herself appear. However, this too proved baseless information.
People immediately took their concerns online regarding the subject matter.
“Parami” notes that Democrats revealed their ‘special guest’ was Kamala Harris only and this did not involve any celebrity performance at the end, which could have even overshadowed the gravity of the election.
