Maa Kaali is a film produced by Karthikeya 2 makers, People Media Factory and Vijay Yelakanti. Maa Kali is a movie that stars Raima Sen and Abhishek Singh and talks about the series of events that took place on August 16, 1946, which were collectively called The Week of Long Knives. This movie will bring to light the never told horrors that happened in Bengali Hindus on the verge of independence.

The poster for this film has been released announcing a teaser launch date on July Fourth (4th). Speaking about it, Vijay Yelakanti said “Maa Kaali is an epitaph to all those lives lost in such ruthless butchery powered by greed. Direct Action Day is an untold human suffering story despite its direct connection to one major chapter in our contemporary Indian history. Our purpose with this film is to provide a voice of support, sympathy and solidarity for all those still living with scars from this eventless tragedy.”
About Maa Kali
On 16th August 1946, All-India Muslim league undertook “direct action” intended at establishing a separate Muslim homeland which resulted communal violence sacrificing thousands of Hindu Bengalis. In keeping with concealing horrors long ago from people, it promises reveal what actually happened before during partition.
Raima Sen headlines along with an ensemble supporting cast in her big screen comeback as another female lead character opposite Abhishek Singh. Maa Kaali was shot in Hindi but happens to be trilingual with release also planned for Telugu as well as Bengali versions. The writing and direction credit goes to Vijay Yelakanti while TG Vishwa Prasad is the producer, presented by People Media Factory and co-produced by Vivek Kuchibhotla. The film will be released this year and its teaser will premiere on Thursday, July 4th.
