In an extremely improbable turn of events, it was equally mind boggling for the Chinese zoo visitors at Shanwei zoo to find that the pandas were doing some very un panda-like behavior such as making strange sounds like barking. At this point, the mortified guests understood why the zoo had been saying that the pandas were not real.
After a wave of outraged petitions and condemnations, the management of the zoo had no option but to drop their facade. Admit that they simply brought in dogs and painted them in black and white like a panda so that the sippa mongers who visited the zoo would be deceived.
One more video added to the evidence: the ‘panda’ was lying on a rock panting, quite unlike any bear. And a bit later another looked strange because it walked about with a tail that was curled at the end. At first, the zoo insisted that the animals are called ‘panda dogs’ of this and that species.
But they then came out clean to the New York Post and apologize for lying about the dogs’ chow chows color. The affected visitors who had initially pleaded forgiveness for allowing their children to touch real pandas demanded their money back after realizing they actually touched disguised dogs.
The perception of the interpretations came as a shock and was viewed with shock and laughter on social media with people mocking and questioning how the zoo was getting away with this. “People see how gullible they were. The zoo actually only does the bear minimum,” one user said. However, some users enjoyed the irony in the situation as one explained, “Bro this cannot be real. But if it is, then it is the funniest thing I have read in a LOOOOONG time.
This is not the first incident of its ilk in China. In the month of May, Zhou Kwan Zoo in Jiangsu Province was ridiculed for a similar act. They had color clashed chows and called them pandas. A staff of the Taizhou Zoo had said, “there is no panda at the zoo and we want to do this because we have the scope”.
