The High Court in Bangladesh disposed of, in a summary fashion, the writ petition filed with regards to the restriction of banning the registration certificate of ex Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s political party Awami League and returning it for its purported participation in massacre during the student uprising, or photoshopped protest, as AKM Moinuddin liked to say. A bench of Justices AKM Asaduzzaman and Md Mahbubul Islam said the interim govt was “sincere” while saying that it will bring to justice the people who ordered firing at the movement – the pacification of which was sanctioned by this – shooting the requesting people. It said individuals, not the party, committed this crime.
During the hearing in the court, lawyer for the RAAG Abir Asaduzzaman GJ opposed the petitions and said ‘the proposal is approved. Thank you court and the current government does not bear any adverse feelings towards political organizations, which is why no political body will be disrupted.’
