After Ram Lalla’s enthronement ceremony at his residence, Prime Minister Modi will hold a nearly 2-km-long roadshow in Ayodhya.
Prime Minister Modi’s tour on the ‘Ram Road’ will start from Sugriva Fort and continue to Lata Chowk. The roadshow route is divided into 40 blocks. The event is likely to be attended by Sindhis, Punjabis, farmers and women in traditional attire.
Sunday’s visit to Ayodhya will be Ram Lalla’s first since he performed ‘Pran Pratishtha’ at his birthplace on January 22 this year.
Ahead of PM Modi’s visit, Acharya Satyendra Das, chief priest of the Ram temple, said: “PM Modi is visiting Ayodhya to attend the Ram Lalla. Lalla’s darshan and roadshow, preparations are underway on a stretch of the road.
“This is his (Prime Minister Modi’s) first visit to Ayodhya after ‘Pran Pratishtha’. He will visit the sanctum sanctorum and thereafter hold a roadshow till Lata Mangeshkar Chowk. Ayodhya Prophets and saints will accompany him during the roadshow,” he added.
Preparations are underway for a grand reception to be held on Prime Minister Modi’s arrival in Ayodhya. Ahead of his visit, the temple town witnessed a large influx of devotees in the early hours of Sunday and security was beefed up.
Yashwant Singh, a devotee of Lord Ram, told ANI: “The legacy given by Prime Minister Modi to this country will remain with us as a legacy for centuries. We pray that Prime Minister Modi will be re-elected and achieve ‘ab ki baar 400′ target paar’ (this time there are more than 400 seats).
Ayodhya Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raj Karan Nayyar, while talking about the security arrangements in the holy city, said that ahead of PM Modi’s arrival, the area has been divided into zones , departments and sub-departments.
“Following instructions from the top, we have divided the area into zones, sectors and sub-sectors. We have briefed personnel on the safety protocols to be followed and marked their duty points to ensure they understand their responsibilities at the site. The place they are assigned to protect,” Nayyar said on Saturday night.
Ahead of PM Modi’s visit, the temple’s gates and approach paths were decorated with flowers and flags. Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and commandos along with police are monitoring all preparations. Security measures at the airport have also been beefed up.
Ayodhya will go to polls in the fifth phase on May 20.
Uttar Pradesh, which is voting in all seven phases of the assembly elections, has fielded the highest number of Lok Sabha MPs at 80. Voting for 16 seats has been completed in the first two phases.
In the 2019 general elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party secured most of the electoral gains, winning 62 of the state’s 80 seats, with ally Apna Dal (S) winning two more seats. Mayawati’s BSP managed to get 10 seats, while Akhilesh Yadav’s SP could get only 5 seats.
There is only one seat left in Congress.
