The state authorities in Jharkhand yesterday sent warning signals after bird flu spread to one of the poultry farms in Ranchi, said an official.
As many as 7700 ducks and 920 birds were culled at the Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Ram Krishna Ashram-run poultry farm located in Morabadi US.
In addition to this, approximately 4300 eggs were also destroyed according to him.
Moreover, he added that ICAR-National Institute for High Security Animal Diseases (NIHSAD) Bhopal tested positive for H5N1 strain of avian influenza A virus that was present in the samples.
