Previously, Lovely quit the Congress Party in April 2017 and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party together with Malik.

Arvinder Singh Lovely, who recently resigned as Congress president in Delhi, said on Wednesday that he would rather quit politics than leave the Bharatiya Janata Party, which he is now a member of.

Lokay, along with other senior Congress leaders in Delhi, including former ministers Raj Kumar Chouhan, Naseb Singh and Amit Malik, joined the BJP last week.

He had previously quit the Congress Party in April 2017 and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party along with Malik. Divided leadership.

“Last time I decided to quit Congress out of anger. But this time, we took a decision with a well-thought-out and cool-headed mind. Now, we will engage in politics only here (in the BJP) or quit politics and Not leaving the party.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, who accompanied Lovely, said he and other leaders will be free to decide their roles in the party.

Lovely said the role of workers was paramount in any political party and he would take up that role and campaign for the party wherever he was asked to go. Lovely is among the BJP’s 40 star campaigners for the Delhi polls. He hinted that many other leaders of the Congress party in Delhi might join the BJP in the coming days.

“Raj Kumar Chauhan is an important leader in northwest Delhi, but his influence is not limited to this constituency. Likewise, Naseeb Singh and I are in the trans-Yamuna region, where there are two seats. This is just the beginning , if the party allows us other friends will come,” he said.

Chouhan, a former minister in Sheila Dikshit’s government, joined the BJP incidentally ahead of the Lok Sabha polls after being denied a vote in the North-West seat. In a sense of déjà vu for him, he was once again denied a ticket from the same seat, after which he quit the Congress to join the BJP along with Lovely and others.

Lovely alleged that the Congress party, which was earlier known for bleeding the country with leaders like Indira Gandhi, has now adopted those who followed the “tukde-tukde” ideology.

“Earlier, when someone talked about patriotism, people used to say that person must be from the Congress. Now, when someone expresses love for the country, people will say he must be from the BJP,” the former Delhi said the Congress president.

He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Delhi BJP for including him in the saffron outfit and said he had also earlier maintained cordial relations with many leaders of the party .

Lovely asserted that the East and Northeast Delhi constituencies in the city’s Trans-Yamuna region have become uncontested after former Congress leaders like him and Chouhan joined the group candidates, suggesting they would play a role in destroying India’s chances. People occupy two seats.

As part of the Indian National Development Inclusion Alliance (INDIA) group, the AAP and the Congress fielded candidates for four and three seats respectively, in direct competition with the BJP.

In a dig at the Indian group, Lovely said the Congress party had recently sacked Yoganand Shastri, the head of the Delhi unit of the National Communist Party of India. NCP is an integral part of the India Group.

“What kind of alliance is this?” he asked. He claimed that AAP was campaigning in four seats in Delhi without even using the names of the Congress party and its leaders and still hoped to get votes from party workers and supporters but that would not happen this time.
