Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi party (AAP) National Convener, Arvind Kejriwal is holding a roadshow to support Rajkumar Chabbewal, the party’s candidate in the final phase of Lok Sabha Polls at Hoshiarpur.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal moved to the Supreme Court of India for an extension by seven days of his interim bail on health grounds in relation to a money laundering case involving excise policy scam.
The highest court had previously granted him a 21-day interim bail order on May 10 so as to allow him time to engage in political campaigns during the parliamentary elections. Nonetheless, he can no longer visit his office or Delhi Secretariat or sign any official papers without being required to do so because they are meant for Lt Governor’s consent alone.
In his fresh plea, the Chief Minister wants more time on health grounds specifically saying that he has lost weight by seven kilograms hence necessitating extra time- seven days- under interim bail.
There is need for some medical tests which requires the chief minister also known as petitioner whose bail was supposed to end on June 1st be further extended.
This case involves allegations of corruption and money laundering made against Delhi government in “2021-22” period leading to formulation and execution of its now scrapped excise policy.
