Kanimozhi, an MP of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party, stated on Saturday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government would be brought down soon as they had presented an “anti-Tamil and anti-people” budget.
While speaking at a demonstration held here on Saturday against Union Budget which has neglected the development of Tamil Nadu. She said that a government for the common man would take place at the Centre. “This Government will not be there for Adanis or Ambanis but for the common man,” she added.
The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented a union budget that made MPs feel like they were in Andhra Pradesh Assembly or Bihar assembly not Parliament.
“All other parts of India were neglected in budget except two States,” she said while adding that DMK is not opposed to allocation of funds for these two States, wondering whether these funds would actually be given. “Because this Union Government is famous for making announcements and then not implementing them,” she explained.
Charging that this is because Centre was anti-minorities and had become minority government. And was forced to allocate higher funds to Andhra Pradesh and Bihar only for its survival.

“How can you address basic issues like education, health when all taxes are taken out by center from Tamil Nadu without giving any money to us?” She asked quoted below.
Amit Shah laid foundation stone for Chennai Metro Rail Phase II. However, till date no fund has been allocated in respect of project. In previous budget allocation had been reduced by Center under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS scheme. Nonetheless even such allocated amount was also not fully released.“Now, having claimed last year that the allocated funds were not fully utilised, the Centre has further reduced the funds for the scheme,” she said.
