GUWAHATI The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has issued a notice to all party members to review and take action on complaints received regarding anti-party activities during the Lok Sabha elections.

The elections that were held in three phases from April 19 to May 7 resulted in three parliamentary seats for Congress out of Assam’s 14. In 2019, too, the party won exactly this number of seats.
“After its first meeting, an official note was given to all party members about placing complaints against anti-party activities that took place during the Parliament election,” State Congress spokesperson Bedabrata Bora said.
Nripen Thakuria is their chairman while Bobbeeta Sharma is their co-chairperson and Shirazul Hussain Saikia serves as their member secretary. It was initiated by them when State party president Bhupen Kumar Borah sat down for it.
“So far we have got such complains from six districts among thirty five of the state. Our committee members will assess these allegations together with those who will provide explanation,” Mr Bora told journalists on July 10 night.
