Annu Kapoor demands police protection as “Hum Chup Nahi Baithenge” makers face death threats.
Radhika G Films’ forthcoming feature Hamare Baarah is becoming increasingly controversial. Amid all the talk of a thought-provoking narrative and concretizing performances, veteran actor Annu Kapoor has come out with an emotional plea asking people to hold judgment until they watch the whole film.
Amidst all this controversy surrounding Hamare Baarah’s release, Annu Kapoor one of India’s finest actors and a key person in the making of the film has decided to shoulder some responsibility. This comes at a time when members of cast and crew are receiving threats.
Unprecedentedly, Kapoor has implored for help from the police to protect his team on Hamare Baarah. This move shows how serious things have become and why artists should be protected with safe spaces in which they can work.
In view of his eminence in the industry coupled with his unwavering devotion to quality cinema, Kapoor’s plea carries weight. His call that everybody should wait until after watching before critiquing the film speaks volumes about storytelling power while dealing with sensitive subjects requires great empathy and understanding.
Annu Kapoor – हमारे बारह का उद्देश्य किसी भी जाति या धर्म के खिलाफ आवाज़ उठाना नहीं हैं। बल्कि महिलाओं के सम्मान के लिए।…@annukapoor_ @ash22kalsekar @LaghateParth @actormanojjoshi @Pparitosh1…https://t.co/o3TMIo5ukc via @hamare_baarah

The film Hamare Baarah takes place in Uttar Pradesh and is a discussion of the overpopulation issue in India as well as women’s struggles. Kapoor’s plea has made the message of this movie more compelling urging viewers to take interest in its story rather than parts of it.
Hamare Baarah is a joint production by Birender Bhagat, Ravi S Gupta, Sheo Balak Singh and Sanjay Nagpal, with Trilok Nath Prasad: Co-producer and Kamal Chandra: Director. The script was written by Rajan Agarwal and addresses some deep-seated societal problems.
The Viacom 18 Studios will release it in India while Rising Star Entertainment UK will handle the global release.
