Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s directive to the officials is to take necessary measures to cushion the damage caused by incessant rains pounding the state for about the past twenty-four hours.
In a review meeting on Saturday (31st August 2024) Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said that every official in the line departments concerned has to be on high alert independently of all. This is because more rainfall is likely.
He warned about the possibility of electric wires being loose due to continuous rain and people getting caught in the break of even manholes.
The Chief Minister moreover asked the officials to erect flood alert boards at areas of waterlogged rivulets and at outlets of river water into the canals, as well as, send text messages on alerts to mobile phones.
