The most recent International Awards Indian Film Academy IIFA was organized between September 27 and September 29 in Abu Dhabi and has drawn a flak from Kannada director Hemanth Rao for alleged contempt levied by the event. IIFA Utsavam, a section that covers the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries, left Rao and his team quite dissatisfied.
Hemanth Rao Calls Out IIFA for Disrespect

Rao further UCN Report highlighted also the way the awards were carried out specifying that no nominee was mentioned during the presentation. “It’s your award, you can award it to whosoever you want. That’s your choice!! I have not won MANY awards and actually have not worried about anything, so these grapes aren’t sour” he stated. However, what disturbed him was the opacity of the process. “This is why you had to remain in one pose with the award and again the nominees were not to be even mentioned this year. The format this year was just to present the creator with the award.”
Noting her point of view however, in a stern disapproval of the IIFA organizers Rao said, “Your award shows survive on the talent that you place on the stage to perform. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. I have the most wonderful job in the world, too bad you don‘t want to give me your award.”
Siddharth Reacts: “This Will Not End Neglect Towards Artists”
Always the one to speak out and have a stance against the way artists are treated in the industry, actor Siddharth reacted to Hemanth Rao’s post. “Sad to know you and Charan had to endure this. Such middlemen will not disappear. Propagating such disrespect toward the artists is shameful. Btw kudos to you for having the guts to do that.”
