Following the enthusiastic response garnered by the new season, Prime Video today confirmed that Season Two of Call Me Bae is officially in works. Ever since it premiered on the 6th of September on Prime Video, Call Me Bae is touted to have entertained all age demographics. The cast includes Ananya Panday and Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, Mini Mathur.
The series has crossed the geographical boundaries and has been watched in more than 165 countries and over 85% of the pin codes across the country. Further commendations have come in for Call Me Bae, which has debuted and first ranked in the India top 10 list since the title’s launch and would later be ranked as one of the 10 most popular titles in over 50 countries’ Prime Video following its debut including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa among many others over the launch weekend.
The compelling series ‘Call Me Bae’ has been able to capture the attention of its audience across the world with the light-hearted and lively stereotype it features, especially on its satire on class disparity and styling slavery in pop culture. But it’s not only the funny bits of the series that have worked, his central message or rather the core of the series – #BeHencode, the self, self-belief remained deeply embedded within the viewers, warming the tone of the light-hearted story.
The series’ colourful soundtrack is still making waves with four of the 10 album tracks – “Vekh Sohneeya”, “Churaaiyaan”, “Khwaish Poori” and “Yara Tere Bin” on the current trending songs on Instagram. With “Vekh Sohneyaa” getting more than 10 MM+ views on Youtube and coming in at a dizzying #8 on Shazam’s Discovery India chart and #1 in Top 50 in Mumbai and Delhi. Bae’s fashionable styling gets to most the creators and the brands with the urge to imitate Bae’s looks to ‘Seize the Day’ content as Bae is ready to do so.
The series made its premiere on the service after a catchy and high-impact advertising that could be described as its ‘soul’. The campaign began with headlined actress Ananya Panday, reassuringly Bae, her otherworldly bags at the Mumbai airport loomed in. Before the trailer arrived, there was a teaser from Prime Video that showed Karan Johar ‘launching’ Ananya in her long-form streaming début which was still yet to be viewed by people. Prior to the debut, the service held an exciting Bae-themed week at Mumbai’s highly crowded Central Western Express Highway (WEH) metro station and called it ‘Photos And’. Over the course of focusing on these digital, influencer marketing, and on-ground activations coupled with distribution partnerships with ONLY, Tresemme, and Amazon Fashion, the campaign transported Bae’s world to all and sundry. Call Me Bae quickly became a hot favorite turned out to be one of the title most discussed of the year, making ‘bae’ the character a cultural icon legendary.

On the production head, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra are the executive producers based out of Jack in the Box Pictures and ElFin Productions. The series has been directed by Collin D’Cunha with the man behind the creation being Ishita Moitra who has been co-writing with Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair for the series.
