On Thursday (August 16, 2024), Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group was appointed Chairman of Young India Skills University in Telangana.
According to a government order, he will serve for a year in that capacity. Earlier, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy requested him to mentor this new university in Telangana which aims at closing the skill gap and making its students employable.
The Skills University will be established at Meerkhanpet in Kandukur mandal on the city outskirts in public-private mode and aim at providing training to young people so that they can get jobs all over the world. Multidisciplinary schools will offer certificate courses to degrees.
