Amit Shah, the Minister for Union stated on Sunday that Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal’s Supreme Court granted temporary relief was not a straightforward undertaking to him. Amit Shah requested that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and accused in a money laundering case connected with the alleged GST policy fraud ought to turn himself in to the investigating agency by June 2 as per Supreme Court order which only gave him bail for his campaign during this year’s Lok Sabha election.
At BJP office in Hyderabad when he addressed journalists, the minister said “If Arvind Kejriwal perceived such interim bail as clean lie, then there is ‘malefied influence’ of legal understanding on his part”
Arvind kejriwal has been granted interim bail for campaigning. The Supreme Court however did not accept it when he approached it crying foul play over his arrest. He therefore filed an application seeking bail but this was also dismissed.
Kejriwal is not innocent; he is just out of prison in order to campaign. But he will be returned there again come 2nd June. This tweet was posted by Amit Shah (Modi Ka Parivar) (@AmitShah) May 11, 2024
“The court bailed him out until June 1 so from various agencies coming into action beginning on June 2nd.” If Arvind Kejriwal thinks this is a clean lie, then his understanding of the law is very Weak,” said BJP leader.
It was after spending forty days in judicial custody at Tihar jail that Kejriwal walked free last Friday following a temporary reprieve from India’s top court.
The national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had been given conditional release up to first day of next month but must report back to prison later on second day thereof.
According to AAP leader, interim relief granted to Kejriwal will be a “game changer” for AAP and Indian group campaign with Lok Sabha elections entering into the critical phase in the next few weeks.
The opposition leaders have also welcomed Kejriwal’s interim bail and said, “Now, it is going to be a more intense fight against fascism.”
