UNESCO has placed Saint Hilarion Monastery/Tell Umm Amer in Palestine on the List of World Heritage in Danger and simultaneously announced it amid the ongoing Gaza conflict. It was announced yesterday during the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee in New Delhi, India.
The plenary meeting of the session heard that Saint Hilarion Monastery/Tell Umm Amer in Palestine is now a listed World Heritage Site and a site on the List of World Heritage In Danger.
Lebanon, Turkiye, and Kazakhstan were amongst several state parties who welcomed UNESCO’s inscription for this monument in Palestine.
