America’s Got Talent semi-finalist Kabir Singh passes away at 39

Indian-origin comedian Kabir Singh, best known as a semifinalist on Season 16 of America’s Got Talent, has passed away at the age of 39. Singh, who gained widespread recognition through his performances on the show, died on Wednesday, as reported by TMZ.
Law enforcement officials are awaiting toxicology report results to establish the cause of death.
Investigators are reportedly leaning toward natural causes, citing his history of health issues, which may have been a contributing factor.
However, authorities have emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing and details surrounding his death remain limited at this time.
Earlier on the same day on December 5, his friend Jeremy Curry shared the news on Facebook with a photo of them together, stating that Singh “passed away peacefully in his sleep.”
According to The People, Curry said that funeral services would take place on Saturday, December 14, in Hayward, Calif., requesting prayers for Singh’s family and fiancée, concluding with “I Love you bro.”
Who was Kabir Singh?
Kabir Singh, also known as “Kabeezy” born in Portland to Indian parents, discovered his talent for comedy early on as a way to navigate adversity. At the age of nine, he spent a brief period in Bombay, where he honed his ability to entertain in three different languages.
In addition to his 2021 appearance on America’s Got Talent, Kabir Singh was featured on Comedy Central, Family Guy, and the BBC, according to his Instagram bio.
His profile also revealed he was actively performing stand-up, with his most recent show taking place on November 2 in Manteca, California.
According to Daily Mail, his television credits included a 2014 appearance on Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution and a 2017 feature on Fox’s comedy game show Punchline.
His most significant solo performance was a 30-minute special for Dry Bar Comedy titled “Retiring Material,” released in 2020.
