Having just delivered a blockbuster success with Stree 2, Director Amar Kaushik is getting his feet wet back in the horror-comedy genre. In a recent interview, Kaushik gave insights on his future films and disclosed information regarding his next film’s title and production schedule along with the details about the much-awaited sequel to Bhediya.
Stree 2 which is a sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy film, has broken the record of earnings of over Rs. 500 crores globally. The movie came out with the original cast members which include Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, who resurfaced and dealt with a new menace affecting the city of Chanderi.
With Stree 2 firmly behind him, Amar Kaushik is now ready to warm his creative high boots as he shifts his attention to developing further this genre bending universe. Although fans are eager to attend developments regarding possible Stree 3, Kaushik is currently focusing on bringing to life two other projects – the continuation of the story of the wolf man Bhediya and a new story about vampires.
As for Bhediya 2, it is evolving in terms of the story but the director is yet to say ‘okay, that’s final’. Amar Kaushik commented to India today that ‘the script isn’t locked yet’ but ‘we’ve hammered out the story. Now we have to expand upon the screenplay. There are a few parts of the story that I am not very pleased with, so we have to hit the board again and make those parts better.’“ They seem very animated about the forthcoming Indian horror-comedy as the pre-visualized story, stays intact.
Bhediya, which was released in the year 2022, had Varun Dhawan starring in the film about a man who bore a strange wolfman curse. While the script for the follow-up Bhediya 2 is still in development, Amar Kaushik is not idle as he is working on his another project-tham vampire film. Kaushik says that ‘we shall be commencing work on thamba in the next two months.’ Whereas, production is in progress, specific information regarding the storyline and the ensemble cast remains a mystery.
