An Alliance Air flight from Hyderabad to Tirupati was compelled to return to Hyderabad on this day (September 24, 2024) morning as there was an issue related to the aircraft’s engine.
Flight 9I 877 operated by ATR-72-600 took off from Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at 6.35 a.m. with a scheduled arrival at Tirupati International Airport of 7.30 a.m. Some five minutes before the scheduled landing, the plane which was flying towards the airport made a U-turn somewhere near Vontimitta in Andhra Pradesh and flew back to Hyderabad, coming into Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 08:30 hrs.
“There was no announcement at once. But later, the crew came and told us that the flight was going back because of a fault in the engine. There were around 60 passengers in, it is very thankful that we have landed safely,” said Mogulla Raji Reddy, who was on board along with his family who were on a religious trip to Tirupati.
Mogulla Raji Reddy, who has been the spokesman of ‘Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee’, said he along with his family made further booking of an 1130 am indigo flight to tire off towards tirupati. At the time of publishing this article, there was no reports from Alliance Air on the issue.
