Alka Yagnik, the Bollywood playback artist shared a personal note on Instagram in which she revealed that she had been battling with a rare hearing disorder. The news of this comes as a surprise to her fans who have enjoyed her melodious voice in many films for years.

Yagnik has described what happened suddenly and shockingly, leading to the diagnosis of her condition. “A few weeks ago, I stepped out of a plane and all of a sudden. It seemed as if I could not hear anything” she wrote in an emotional social media post. Doctors later diagnosed her with a rare form of sensory neural hearing loss resulting from viral attack.

The singer expressed how much she is struggling to come into terms with this sudden setback. “This was all so suden and major for me,” she said. She pleads for prayers from well-wishers and fans as she continues to battle with the condition.

With no certainty about her singing career going forward, Yagnik utilized the situation to raise awareness. In addition, she advised people listening to loud music and using headphones should be careful. Especially young singers who love their work passionately. “One day I would like to share with you the health hazards of my profession”, she added.

Despite numerous challenges, Yagnik passed on a message of hope.“With all your love and support. I am hoping to recalibrate my life and come back soon.” She lastly thanked her fans saying: “Your support & understanding will be everything for me at such crucial hours”.

Alka Yagnik is an embodiment of Indian music Her voice has decorated numerous. Bollywood films synonymous with love pain tears that touch millions hearts Some of her most memorable songs are ‘Udja Kale Kawan’ (Refugee), ‘Oodhni’ (Karam), ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’ (Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai) and ‘Aaye Ho Meri Zindagi Mein’ (Mere Jeevan Saathi).

Across her accomplished profession, Yagnik has won many awards. The most prestigious being a record seven Filmfare Awards for Best Female Playback Singer. She has been captivating audiences with her voice for ages making it a huge loss to the Indian music industry on account of her diagnosis.
