Bihar is at the center of the Singham series, with the theme of good versus evil being foremost and Ajay Devgn’s character Bajirao Singham fighting the forces of injustice. This time, it is evident that Rohit Shetty has borrowed elements from Ramayana, one of the classical epics of Indian history for Singham Again, the third installment in the franchise.
As Mid-Day reports, “the story of Ramayana has given abundant creative material to all filmmakers in all ages.” According to this, while conceptualizing Singham Again, as a sequel to Singham Returns, Rohit was very clear that he needs to offer something fresh yet preserving the roots of the Indian audience. In a way, one can say Ajay is trying to pay tribute, of sorts to the genre where good conquers evil through a cop dule (sic)-fest.
The Plot: Singham Heads to Sri Lanka
In Singham Again, Bajirao Singham decides to take his campaign against social injustice ever further — only this time he is headed for Sri Lanka. This time, he’s not alone, he is in the aid of cops known as his ‘sena’ ready to take on the forces of the villain. Apparently, in the film Arjun is said to be a terrorist. Ajay’s character of Singham with the team of cops known as his sena will be heading to Sri Lanka for a fight with the main antagonist in the movie.
