Current Chief of Air Staff is Air Chief Marshal V.R. Chaudhari.
The Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal on June 15th will be reviewed by Air Chief Marshal V.R. Chaudhari, who is currently the Chief of Air Staff. The parade for 213th officers course will signal the successful completion of pre-commissioning training for flight cadets from both Flying and Ground Duty branches of Indian Air Force (IAF).
During the ceremony, President’s Commission will be given to graduating trainees by RO. This event also involves awarding ‘Wings’ to Flight Cadets and Officers from Indian Navy. Indian Coast Guard and friendly foreign countries who have completed their flying training. It is a landmark occasion for any military aviator.
The highest order-of-merit among Flight Cadets from Flying Branch would fetch him/her the Chief of the Air Staff ‘Sword of Honour’ and President’s Plaque for excellence in overall training. This cadet will again get command over the parade as well as being privileged to handle it. Besides, President’s Plaque will be presented by RO to leading trainee from Ground Duty branches.
A flypast consisting formations of Pilatus PC-7 Mk-II, Dornier, Hawk. Kiran as well as aerobatic displays by Pilatus PC-7 Mk-II, SU-30 MKI. Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), and Sarang Helicopter Display Team would mark the end of this function.
