On Friday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal emerged out of Tihar jail after the Supreme Court granted him bail on interim basis until June 1. Sunita Kejriwal, Harshita and Bhagwant Mann together with Atishi were some of the senior AAP officials who accompanied her out of prison.
While addressing the party workers outside Tihar jail during his welcome ceremony, Kejriwal thanked everyone for wishing him well and expressed gratitude to a Supreme Court justice for granting him bail.
“It’s good being with you all again. I promised that I will return soon, here I am… Let me make a request; save our nation from dictatorship. It is something I am fighting with all my strength.”
At 11:00 on Saturday morning, Delhi CM said he would visit Connaught Place’s Hanuman temple before holding a press conference at the party office at 1:00 pm.

In New Delhi on Friday, wearing yellow t-shirts AAP supporters danced to dhol beats and shared sweets as they marked the grant of interim bail by Supreme Court to Mr.Kejriwal in money laundering case.

Some slogans seen at the AAP office included “Jail ke taale toot gaye, Kejriwal ji chhoot gaye”, “Modi ji ja rahe hain, Kejriwal ji aa rahe hain” and “Dekho dekho kon aaya, sher aaya sher aaya”.
Many supporters displayed placards bearing messages against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to an AAP leader said that interim bail is a blessing from Lord Hanuman to his devotee Kejriwal, and that his release from the judicial custody will lead to “major changes” in India.
Senior AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said while addressing a joint press conference at the party office “Kejriwal getting interim bail after 40 days is no less than a miracle. This is also a divine indication that the prevailing conditions in the country are going to change..With his release there would be huge transformations across the country.
Other AAP leaders including Gopal Rai, Sanjay Singh, Atishi and CM’s wife Sunita Kejriwal have posted about this on X.
This brief freedom of Kejriwal from jail is going to give more impetus for AAP’s Lok Sabha campaign in Delhi which will be conducted on May 25, with its top leaders campaigning for it.

Also welcoming the Apex court interim bail were Opposition leaders who opined that “fight to save democracy” has become more intense now.
Congress leader Pawan Khera hopes former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren also gets due justice.
“We welcome Supreme Court’s intervention in granting bail to Arvind Kejriwal… We also hope that Prime Minister would find time enough after June 4 when he ceases being PM India and come sit down here at Sabarmati Ashram and look back on this kind of politics. He has become addicted to it,” he said.
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee also hailed the Supreme Court order, saying, “I am glad that Mr Arvind Kejriwal has received an interim bail. I Am very helpful for the current election. SP Leader Sharad Pawar said the nation has remained unyielding in its embrace of democracy.
“I welcome the Supreme Council’s Interim Bail Order for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. India remains unyielding in its embrace of democracy.

Another Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray said this signified justice and relief for Kejriwal whom he believes to be against the “authoritarian regime” of India indicating big changes are coming .
SC grants bail to Kejriwal

Granting interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal does not amount to granting privileges or special status to a politician, the Supreme Court said while observing that the AAP leader has no criminal record and does not pose a threat to society.
But he was finally given liberty for 21 days by the court after being detained in Tihar jail for 50 days to campaign for the remaining phases of the Lok Sabha elections. Refusing such relief would lead us towards class of politicians who are allowed to attend their respective sessions of Parliament.
The Supreme Court, however, directed Chief Minsiter Kejriwal against visiting his office or signing official documents unless approved by LG.
As part of the conditions for Bail on Mr. Kejriwal, he shall deposit bail bond in Rs.50000/- with one surety of like amount which shall be the satisfaction of the superintendent concerned.
