Next, Shah Rukh Khan is about to captivate moviegoers in a new look! King, his next film, is an action thriller with a complex twist that promises to be raw and full of action. King will mark the much awaited silver screen debut of SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan. Earlier it was reported that Khan would play a powerful gangster with shades of grey, similar to his previous roles in Darr, Anjaam, and Raees. This character has been termed “mysterious” and “awesome”, which satisfies the audience’s need for him to play darker roles once in a while. Details about Suhana’s character are yet unclear but it is believed she may play ‘disciple’ of Khan signifying the mentorship within dangerous world of the film.

After their hit collaboration on Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan will work again with music director Anirudh Ravichander for King. Anirudh is said to compose a non-repetitive background score that matches the pace and intensity of King as an action-packed thriller. It is also another passion project for Khan as he has been heavily involved in its development alongside co-producer Siddharth Anand and director Sujoy Ghosh.This is because they plan to create a character who is ruthless yet stylish at the same time.Khan calls it shots during creation stages even enacting fight scenes together with his daughter Suhana.
According to Pinkvilla report, this source said“King is one-of-a-kind when it comes to action-thrillers that brings in novel flavors into our movies.” In addition, Shah Rukh Khan wants best team together with Siddharth Anand & Sujoy Ghosh who understand BGM needs for such kind of films so have got the best in the industry, Anirudh.”
King is being made as a fast-paced action extravaganza like never before. The makers are going for a “raw and rustic” feel with a budget of Rs 200 crores. This has taken pre-production over one year to perfect all aspects right from script to action sequences.
Siddharth Anand has planned on bringing some international stunt directors to give global appeal. There will be integrated real stunts with VFX enhancements that promise this film’s visual beauty. “Our pre-production work on King has already begun and we are trying to begin shooting it by August 2024. The announcement might come through a proper video asset and Anirudh has already started working on the theme song,” they said.
Earlier, Bollywood Hungama had reported that Shah Rukh Khan was personally involved in the creative process even participating in training with Suhana for fight scenes in movie. According to an insider, “King is an ambitious action film, unlike anyone’s imagination. It has been one year since the team began pre-production so that every aspect can be covered properly – from script, scale or action; there is nothing left out of place. Red Chillies Entertainment have always put out world class products and ensuring grand debut for Suhana Khan is no exception as they go all out for King banner.”
The source added that stunt directors from the West have been approached by Siddharth Anand to work on King. “Siddharth Anand thinks globally and he wants to make a global action thriller with SRK. He is contemplating stunts with western stunt masters, and will shoot it as a real action cum VFX enhanced one,” the source explained further.
By May 2024 filming will start and run for five months. The movie that has created many expectations is expected to be released in theaters in the second half of 2025.
