At 11.30 a.m., the AAP requested for gherao of the BJP headquarters due to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in money laundering activities related to liquor policy.
According to the Delhi Police, there has been no communication from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that it wishes to demonstrate at BJP headquarters on June 29th.
The AAP called for a gherao of the BJP headquarters at 11.30 a.m. against the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy-linked money-laundering case.
“The preparations have been made by a senior police officer gurading against those who are not allowed by any protest for being organized at DDU Marg Central Delhi where the party office is situated,” said the officer while referring to barricades which had been erected and paramilitary personnel deployed there.
“They may also be detained if necessary as Section 144 of CrPC has already come into effect at DDU Marg according to him.” He added that there is still free flow traffic on this road.
Earlier today, National Convenor Mr. Kejriwal was arrested by CBI and ED in “a false case” according to AAP.
