On this occasion Imran Khan is making a comeback after what can only be described as a 9 year actress retirement. Unlike Aamir, Khan has been looking for the right project to make a comeback and it appears that he is going to achieve that with the Netflix romantic comedy. Aamir Khan’s nephew will work further for this comeback film with Aamir Khan. This film will be produced by Aamir Khan Productions under new CEO Aparna Purohit. It is worth noting that this is the first project of the production company in the OTT age as well as the first one approved by Ms. Purohit.
As seen on Peeping Moon, untitled rom-com will be directed by Danish Aslam who directed Khan and Deepika Padukone in a 2010 film Break ke Baad. Amir khan, who took up the responsibility of launching his son’s acting career in 1988 and was the last main actor in the 2008 film ‘Jaane tu ya Jaane Na’ will come in handy again for his son’s return. Their association also deepened with the hugely successful 2011 black comedy Delhi Belly.
Earlier, Imran Khan performed an action in a web series film by Abbas Tyrewala before bailing out because the role he was to play was necessitating a lot of violent action. There was also information that he was working for a film called Happy Patel produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Vir Das.
Aamir Khan Productions includes every genre that has been dominated by the established and the newcomers as well. Films in the pipeline include Sitaare Zameen Par directed by RS Prasanna featuring Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. Rajkumar Santoshi’s period drama Lahore 1947 has Sunny Deol in it while Pritam Pyare, directed by Sunil Pandey has Sanjay Mishra and Neeraj Sood. Besides, the production house is also producing the remake of One Day with Junaid Khan and starring Sai Pallavi as well as the comedy Happy Patel by Vir Das which is due to feature Aamir Khan in a cameo.
