Several contrary viewpoints, surfaced the next day post the dissolution of The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), as these some of the executive Committee declared that they were not in favor of majority rule.
Executive committee members Sarayu Mohan, Ananya, and Vinu Mohan have made statements on August 28, 2024, that they were concerned with the decision of the committee to be disbanded because of the moral concern with the heightened sexual misconduct complaints by women against its members.
Dated August 27, 2024, the association’s statement claimed how its 17 member executive committee was disbanded was not even an issue of majority rule as the members had ‘unanimously’ agreed to the dissolution.
Sarayu said she has not gone to support the resignation issues, Ms. sarayu says, I has staggered across resignation issues after explaining the entire resignation formalities and process. Ms.sarayu says, Ms.sarayu says, Ms.sarayu says, Most assumptions were dissensions regarding the dissolution of the committee during the online meeting.
The actor also said that since the committee had to answer to members, she also went seeking votes and was elected to the committee.
Ananya also added that she agreed with the majority that found it necessary to dissolve the committee even though she had reservations about it.
Measures of welfare
Mr. Mohan voiced his concern over the progress of the welfare measures implemented by the association following the decision to disband the executive committee. However, “I stood with the majority decision after getting an assurance that the welfare measures will continue under the ad-hoc committee,” he said.
