On Wednesday France National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office announced that a 26-year-old Russian-Ukrainian man was held on suspicion of plotting a violent act after an explosion left him injured.
The Prosecutors said the man suffered “serious burns following the explosion” and was attended to by fire brigade officers.
A search of his room later revealed goods and equipment used in making bomb explosives. AFP said that guns and fake passports were also found at the hotel in Roissy-en-France commune.
According to AFP, the prosecutor’s office (PNAT) has been quoted saying “Products and materials intended to manufacture explosive devices” have been found at his hotel room.
The prosecutors said, “One of these devices had exploded,” while explaining that he sustained head injuries.

Due to this seriousness, instead of regular police custody, France’s domestic intelligence agency known as General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI) has retained him. Instead of criminal prosecutors, specialist anti-terror prosecutors are dealing with it.
