Customs Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officers at Tiruchi International Airport confiscated a passenger’s plates made of gold on Thursday.
2.57 kilograms of smuggled gold was seized in the form of plates by Customs Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officials at Tiruchi International Airport from a traveler on Thursday.
Following specific intelligence, AIU officers checked the food processor / juicer mixer with the luggage of a passenger coming from Dubai through an Air India Express flight. In it, they found plates made of gold inside the food processor. This gave us an assessment that this was worth ₹1.83 crores in value.
