A rape and murder case has been filed under the police after the body of a 19-year-old woman who went missing was found with multiple injuries – few days after she had gone missing from her house in Gunateerthawadi village in this district of Karnataka, police say on Thursday (September 5, 2024).
According to them, three people have been detained in connection with the incident which took place on the night of 29 August. She was supposedly beaten on the head with a bay stone and her corpse disposed of in the bushes, where the police assume, abuse took place. In any case, it happened and it will be confirmed afterward in any case from the medical reports.
The law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil said the appalling phenomenon is incomprehensible.
“Karnataka will bring in some very strong laws to prevent all these kinds of activities,” Mr. Patil said.
She and her family reported their daughter missing only after August 31, they said.
“We created a missing report and we started to investigate. On Santos-Sixto their response was to report to authorities an attempt had been made on her life. By the murderer, not the person killing. At this point based on the technical evidence, we were mobilized to look forward to the suspects. And we understood that there were three persons who were in touch with her on the day when she was last seen,” according to one high-ranking police figure.
One of them who resides in the same county house, obviously directed her. “Then, us, in this environment makes her irritated for a very long time. So, we took him and when we interrogated him, he admitted to killing her. He also admitted to accompanying two persons who were controlling his movements from a distance while the incident was taking place,” he narrated.
“All the three suspects in the incident have been arrested and are in custody. We are anticipating the medical report on the status of the victim. And with respect to them And during the course of the investigation. It was suspected that there was a possibility of sexual assault and we added sections of rape in the FIR,” he said. Police say the main suspect and the victim were quite close. The girl’s parents didn’t like it. The police are leaving the matter to further inquiries.
