PVR Inox Cinema has announced that its luxury brand The Luxury Collection will be opening a new branch, PVR Inox Lido in Juhu. This will also coincide with a special retrospective film festival celebrating 15 years of Zoya Akhtar’s journey in Bollywood. There will be a week-long festival commemorating her films including Luck By Chance. Dil Dhadakne Do, Talaash, Gully Boy and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

2024 is an important year for Zoya Akhtar who directed ‘Luck By Chance’ in 2009 featuring Farhan Aktar and Konkana Sen Sharma as the main characters. During the past fifteen years her range has covered different genres and mediums- theatrical releases, OTT films and web series as well. Her stories consistently break conventional norms while resonating with a broad audience.
Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar have played a major role in revolutionising Hindi cinema storytelling . They were behind Excel Entertainment together with Tiger Baby. These movies are not only entertaining but they provide deep experiences that move hearts and minds too. Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar & Excel Entertainment constantly reshape Indian cinema’s narrative landscape by exploring themes such as love, ambition or self-discovery.
To celebrate this event PVR INOX Ltd., hosted an interesting conversation which featured people like Zoya Akhtar. Farhan Akhtar and Reema Kagti along with Ajay Bijli (Chairman & MD) from PVR Cinemas. They discussed about filmmaking art form aside from talking about other topics regarding how she got into movie industry.
Talking about the retrospective: “The fact that my films are going to be on the big screen again is amazing. I love this business. This is my heart and soul, don’t want to be anywhere else, this place is my home.” In addition she spoke about what makes the new PVR Inox Lido cinema significant: “The fact that even young people can come into a place like the new PVR Lido cinema and see films that were made before their time-it is a gift to them.”
Reema Kagti gave her thoughts on Zoya’s contribution in Indian cinema by saying. “Zoya has been one of the defining voices of modern Hindi cinema.”
Farhan Akhtar said during the retrospective, ‘This means a lot to us. And finally he appreciated Mr Ajay’s efforts in motivating people to come back to cinemas once more and make it an amazing experience. Back in those days I have fond memories of watching movies here myself.”
Moreover he went on about the catalogue of movies being screened here. “Proud of having Zoya as a unique voice in film making. Producer and collaborator, there’s nothing better for me as a brother.”
