A sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer is currently in production. Sarah Michelle Gellar She, who plays Helen Shivers in the film, got into “a little trouble” over behind-the-scenes posts on the set.
According to Deadline , Golden Globe nominee Sarah admitted she felt “ouch” when she posted photos from the set of the upcoming sequel on Thanksgiving.
Sarah played Helen Shivers in this 1997 American horror thriller. Her character dies in the movie when a killer chases her down the road after killing her sister Elsa.
The actress admitted her mistake on “Live with Kelly and Mark,” saying:
“You would think that in my position, when they say closed sets, I would know what the rules are on the set, you know. So my husband (Freddie Prinze Jr.) starred in the movie and at the time It was Thanksgiving, so I took our kids to Australia to visit him there, and I was sitting on the set and I thought, “Oh, what a great photo,” and I posted it, Sarah said.
The “Cruel Intentions” actress later discovered that the makers hadn’t released any photos from the set until then.
“They haven’t announced filming yet. Yeah… that’s ‘Oops! My bad!'” Gellar added.
The actress shared a photo of a chair on her Instagram with the words “I know what you did last summer.”
“Scooby-Doo 3 coming soon…” she jokingly captioned the post, referring to another film in the franchise starring her and Prinze.
Gellar pointed out that the film doesn’t even have a social media account. “After I did it, they had to make one,” she said.
Sarah continued, “Again, my bad. But it’s such a cool photo and it’s so much fun. I mean, that’s the movie that Freddy and I met. So, taking our kids there It’s really cool there.
The sequel to “I Know What You Did Last Summer” will be released in theaters on July 18, 2025.
