Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on June 30, the occasion of Doctor’s Day, that his administration has a complete dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure in India and ensuring doctors are universally respected.
National Doctor’s Day is observed on July 1st every year in remembrance of Bidhan Chandra Roy. Who served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal too and whose birth anniversary falls on this day.
In a post on X, Mr. Modi said, “Greetings on #Doctors Day. This is a day to honour the incredible dedication and compassion of our healthcare heroes. They can navigate the most challenging complexities with remarkable skill.”
He added: “Our Government is fully committed to improving the health infrastructure in India and ensuring doctors get the widespread respect they deserve”.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also expressed gratitude towards the medical fraternity on the occasion
“On National Doctors’ Day, we express our heartfelt gratitude and deepest appreciation for the tireless efforts and selfless dedication of our medical fraternity – doctors, healthcare professionals, frontline workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, ANMs, nurses and medical staff,” Mr. Kharge said in a post on X.
Mr. Kharge also stated that “We salute their unwavering commitment to saving lives and their unrelenting service to humanity.”
The Congress leader also remembered Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy.
“Also paying homage to Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy – an extraordinary healer, an illustrious teacher, a freedom fighter who became West Bengal’s second Chief Minister – his commitment being reflected in significant contributions he made for nation building. We are still inspired by his exceptional life story,” he said.
