Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini, on a spree of distributing benefits of various social welfare schemes to the people before the Assembly polls, gave 100.68 crore rupees to 83,633 beneficiaries for them to enjoy under three projects.
In Panipat at a state-level event, Mr. Saini disbursed Rs 22.59 crore among 75,330 beneficiaries for Social Security Pension Scheme and an amount of Rs 15.09 crores given away to 2003 beneficiaries under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna for house repair. Also in this respect , it was noted that there were entitlement certificates awarded to Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana which totalled up to 6300 recipients each receiving financial assistance letters of ₹1 lakh for 100-square yard plot and these will cost about ₹63 Crore.
The Prime Minister has said that in May 2022 “Old Age Samman Allowance” was launched in a pro-active mode through Parivar Pechan Patra scheme; hence allowances for 2.32 lakh elderly persons have been made into automated ones. This program is however different from the previous one as it has increased the income limit from two lakh rupees p.a. to three lakh rupees p.a. He also said that during Congress’ time the pension provided used to be only a thousand rupees per month but now his government raises it up to ₹3k per month Currently, government is giving over ₹605 crore as monthly pension over twenty lakhs elderly citizens in states.
Mr.Saini told that double-engine governments at centre and Haryana were more pro-poor and are working continuously towards economically empowering the poor as well as strengthening them.” The Congress government had made it so difficult for poor people who wanted access benefits provided by those programs”, he continued, “in my government there are no recommendations to run for as the schemes benefits directly go into poor’s account.”
