An earthquake of mild intensity measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale jolted parts of Thrissur and Palakkad districts in Kerala today, according to official sources.

According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), a quake of magnitude 3.0 was recorded at that place at 8.15 am.
According to PTI, district authorities in Thrissur said the tremors lasted for four seconds but there were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage.
Through X which is formerly Twitter, NCS, the Government’s nodal agency in monitoring earthquake activity in India posted that the epicenter of this earthquake was at latitude 10.55 N and longitude 76.05 E with a depth of 7 km.
At Kunnamkulam, Erumappetti, Pazhanji regions and some parts of Palakkad district, it has also been reported that vibrations were felt.
Officials from State Geology department among others have moved to those parts conducting further investigations into this matter.
