The Accordion’s Musical Legacy is Celebrated in a Google Doodle

“On this day in 1829, an instrument was patented with the name accordion, derived from the German word akkord (chord)”.

This interactive Google Doodle lets users play the accordion virtually and add some musical fun to their web browsing.

This free reed instrument has made its mark on pop, jazz, folk and classical music among others.

It also mentioned that one event where accordions are always there is Oktoberfest; a lively festival full of funfair attractions, music and traditional costumes
